fvw Workshops
Bringing German tourism experts to your destination
The fvw Workshops are destination marketing events bringing together Germany's leading tour operators, a delegation of travel agents and representatives of your destination's tourism authority and associations.Over the past three years the fvw Workshops have become a unique, powerful and sought-after marketing platform for travel agents and throughout the industry. Workshops have been conducted for National Tourist Offices/Destination Management Organisations such as Abu Dhabi, Algarve, Balearic Islands, Dubai, Germany, Greece, Israel, Thailand and Turkey.
Objectives are
- To maximize the destination’s exposure in the German market
- To increase the destination's visibility throughout the German travel trade
- To introduce new products and developments to the German travel industry
- To increase visitor numbers and revenue from the German-speaking markets to the destination
Event description
Each fvw Workshop in being announced in the fvw magazine asking travel agents to submit a participation application form. The fvw editors then select a group of approximately twenty agents from different backgrounds. In addition to that representatives and product specialists of leading German tour operators are invited to join the Workshop and to present selected topics and aspects of the German tour operator market and their strategies during the event.The Workshop is conducted as a three day event with the following contents:
- Presentations by the destination's tourism authorities
- Views of the destination from the market’s perspective of attending German tour operators
- Pro-active exchange of ideas with the sales agents on how to promote the destination
The fvw Workshops are prominently featured in the fvw issue that immediately follows the event, in order to share the results with the travel industry and the travel agent community. Coverage is provided through additional editors along with a photographer in charge of destination shooting. This allows the destination to reach more than 33,000 subscribers (mostly companies) and a total of around 100,000 readers throughout the German-speaking travel industry.
Responsibilities and services of the fvw
- The organisation of fvw Workshops
- Coordination of the Workshop programme in accordance with the destination
- Invitation and careful selection of approx. 20 travel agents
- Careful selection and invitation of approx. five representatives/product specialists from Germany's leading tour operators
- Announcement of the Workshop in fvw prior to the event
- Extensive coverage of the Workshop in the fvw magazine
Responsibilities of the destination
- Provision and coordination of all air and land travel arrangements for a group of approximately 35 people including air and ground transportation, hotel, Workshop venue and technology, sightseeing tours, dinner events, etc.
- Coordination of event programme (in accordance with the FVW Mediengruppe)
- Recruitment of all local representatives and speakers
